Arts Integration

Enriching Learning through the Arts

Please choose three techniques covered tonight and briefly describe three ways (one for each technique) to integrate these techniques into an elementary lesson (subject of your choice). Find one or more resources for each integration idea that could help you learn more about these topics so that you could use it in your future classroom. Embed a related image and the link to the resource on your blog.

I really enjoyeed learning about the scratch art using crayon. I had no idea that you could do that!! I would love to integrate that idea by having students draw a mural (all different colors, really dark pressure, and then help paint it black. Then, have the students write on it what they are thankful for(thanksgiving) or what they learned in another project we are doing as sort of an art display of learning!
I would also use the clay to help create a mother's day gift. I would love for students to create salt and pepper shakers out of the clay. This would be a long process, yet would keep the students interested and excited to do art for their moms!
The last idea I have is to have students create science diaramas using the pop-up paper art. It was really neat how he showed us we could fold and cut it into standing 3-d shapes. It would be difficuly, yet when they are done, would feel like they have accomplished a lot!
These presentations were amazing and I have definitely learned a lot about integrating different parts of art into the classroom! I will post the link to the picture and a great resource after this post.
