Rita, I really like how you thought outside of the box. I enjoyed using untraditional products like foil to create a project like that. The stained glass really does help kids learn about geometric shapes. The only thing I would have changed would be to have the foil be more sparse and controlled because of all the distraction. Haha. Anyways, I really enjoyed the art integration into angle measures in math, very creative!
Rita, I really enjoyed your lesson. The stained glass is a fun idea and a great gift they can give to someone in their family. You did a good job of incorporating the geometric shapes and angles into your lesson. I liked that you guided the class by telling them how many angles you wanted them to have in their stained glass piece. Overall, great job!
Rita,
I really liked your lesson. I thought the final product that we made was really cool, and I can totally see why you might still have yours that you made a while ago. I wish we would have had more time to work on it, because not many people seemed to finish. In the future, be careful when planning lessons for your class. If your students do not have enough time to finish projects it can be very disappointing. As college students we can handle it, but some of the younger students might have been very cranky if they didn’t get to complete their project. Nice Job and great idea.
Rita-
This lesson plan was so much fun! I loved it. You really integrated math and art very well. You did a great job teaching the students about angles and then followed it up with a fun activity that students would love to do! Great job!!
Rita- You did a good job on your lesson. I loved how creative and unique your lesson was. I think that you did a very good job managing the class. I enjoyed the overall idea of your lesson and think that kids would love it. I also liked how creative students could be with your lesson. However, I felt a little confused when it came to the angles we were supposed to use. I with that you would have went into more depth on what was expected.
Rita,
Your project was really fun! I feel like it was a great way to make art fun and help students to understand some of the other applications of art. The final project was really cool. . . it was too bad you ran out of time toward the end. Some of the directions were confusing toward the end because there was not as much time, but if you actually did this with a class this would not be an issue. You also had a great teacher's presence. Thanks!
Rita
What a great project!! We all loved making the stained glass art. It was also really cool how you integrated math into this assignment. The use of the angles was really unique. I think htis lesson is one that that needs a little more time, I think we were a little rushed, but you did wonderful!!
Rachel-
Your lesson was very well planned and thought out. Health is a topic that would be great to integrate art into because we sometimes are crunch for time with both of those subjects. You hit all the main points of the lessons. We had anticipatory sets that all led into making our "healthy heart". Also, your artist inspiration was very apparent and also if this lesson was done in Pullman very relatable for the students!
The only suggestion would be to have an anticipatory set that led up to the drawing of the food. It may take some students longer than others and multiple attempts may help some students.
Great job and thanks for sharing a lesson that would be very manageable!
Rachel, I really loved your lesson. I enjoyed the connection you made with our prior knowledge of pullman, and the creativity that you gave to us by not specifying our boundaries. It was really fun to add multiple watercolors and then to draw the foods with fine motor skills. Great connection between art and health.
The only suggestion I can make is to have the students learn more about what is healthy to eat at each meal. But you did a great job covering what makes our hearts healthy. Thanks for sharing your lesson with us!
Rachel, I really enjoyed your lesson. It was a good idea to have students draw the healthy food they ate inside a heart to show what will make their heart healthy. I liked how you used a lot of class participation and discussion in your lesson that is a beneficial tool to use. The only thing I would change would be to give the students heart templates. Just to make sure they are drawing their hearts big enough to fit everything inside. Overall, you did an awesome job!
